# Introduction

Brunch is a CDP protocol that is designed specifically to enable borrowing for mid market cap tokens that typically don’t have access to lending markets. We believe that this is a natural progression in on chain lending as markets mature. 

Over 10,000 tokens are created a day, 99.9% of them probably shouldn’t be eligible for borrowing, but we are moving beyond the era of lending markets for sub 20 assets.
